How does dopamine modulate adult new word learning? (2010–2012)

Abstract:
The aim of this research is to determine how dopaminergic drugs influence new word learning in healthy adults by examining the underlying cognitive and brain mechanisms involved. This knowledge will be vital for developing effective pharmacotherapy interventions for adults with communication disorders after brain injury. In this population, the combination of pharmacotherapy with behavioural language interventions has the potential to significantly improve treatment outcomes.
