Laparoscopic Approach to Carcinoma of the Endometrium. An international multicentre randomised Phase 3 clinical trial (2010–2013)

Abstract:
Currently, total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH) is the standard treatment for endometrial cancer. While this is an accepted effective treatment, it is associated with significant adverse events. Total laparoscopic hysterectomies (TLH) have been demonstrated to be feasible and safe, and may have simial recurrence rate and patterns of recurrence as TAH at better quality of life and surgery safety. The LACE trial is the first sufficiently powered prospective study to directly compare TAH and TLH.
