Statistical methods for detection of non-coding RNAs in eukaryote genomes (ARC Discovery Project administered by Monash University) (2008–2011)

This project will develop and apply a collection of powerful new mathematical and statistical methods for discovering new functional elements in human and other eukaryote genomes. Using our expertise in mathematical and statistical modelling, high-performance computing and bioinformatics, we will develop new algorithms and an expanded list of functional components. In conjunction with international groups we will conduct experimental investiagion of putative functional elements.
