Novel EEG data mining methods for detecting and monitoring brain injury (2007)

The project aims to develop & advance novel analysis methods for human brain function data which could be employed to enhance future detection, monitoring or diagnoses of brain injury, or predictions of patients clinical outcomes. Existing analysis algorithms of the investigators will be applied to data from other patient groups. Algorithm efficacy will be assessed against project aims and improved or novel algorithms will be developed accordingly. Expected outcomes include new insights into brain dysfunction in various conditions; these could inform future developments of bedside brain monitoring technology. Potential benefits include aids for clinical decision-making & improved outcomes for brain injury patients.'',
