Developing a written corrective feedback system for data-driven error correction in L2 academic writing (2018)

Abstract:
Corpora (very large collections of searchable text) are increasingly used to resolve errors in second language (L2) writing (Crosthwaite, 2017). I will develop a written corrective feedback (WCF) system for error resolution specific to corpus-based data-driven learning (DDL) error correction in L2 writing, a system promoting inductive L2 acquisition by reducing difficulty in formulating appropriate corpus queries. The system can then be adopted globally in future DDL research.
