Nanocrystal Electron Diffraction Facility (2023–2024)

Abstract:
This proposal aims to establish an advanced micro-crystal electron diffraction (MicroED) facility. Accurate determination of molecular structure is of crucial importance for the understanding of biological processes, the design of new materials and drugs and enhancing the efficiency of agriculture. The facility will establish an Australia-first dedicated micro-crystal electron diffractometer. The new equipment will provide new capabilities by enabling structure determination using nanometre-size crystals, and complement the already existing structural chemistry and biology facilities available at the participating institutions and nation-wide.This proposal aims to establish an advanced micro-crystal electron diffraction (MicroED) facility.
