Detection of trace concentrations of chemical contaminants in urban water systems (ARC LIEF Administered by University of New South Wales) (2008)

Abstract:
The proposed grant aims to establish a integrated analytical facility for the chemical characterisation of trace contaminants in urban water systems at UNSW, UQ and UTS. The new facilities will support a wide range of research activities underpinning the fate of micropollutants through water and wastewater processes and treatment systems. These new facilities will (1) meet the increasing needs for instrumentation to be focused on analysis of contaminants in water and wastewater, (2) serve as focus point to capitalise on existing expertise in water and wastewater design and (3) improve the competitiveness of participating members for international collaborations.
