Born in 1971 in Maribor, Slovenia. Studied Civil Engineering at the University of Maribor and completed BsC in 1996 and MsC in 2000. PhD degree in Materials Science completed at the University of Ljubljana in 2006. Held position of teaching assistant (1996-2007) and Assistant Professor (2007-2011) at the University of Maribor. Member of the 9th Ukranian Antarctic Expedition in 2004.
Moved to Brisbane, Australia in 2011. Worked as workplace trainer and resource developer in the field of Laboratory Operations and Manufactured Mineral Products. As such trained staff for Holcim, Boral, Coffey Testing, Cement Australia, MMG Century, Hastings Deering, ALS Industrial, Brisbane City Council, Neilsen's Concrete, Brisbane Soil Testing, South Queensland Soils. Joined The University of Queensland in 2014.
Main interests and competencies: mechanical testing, construction materials, neutron radiography.
Mother of two sons born in 1996 and 1998. Free time interests are mainly sports (ice hockey, swimming, volleyball, horseback riding, skiing, cycling). Registered with Ice Hockey Australia as referee and coach.
