Dr Tamzyn Davey is a Lecturer in the School of Public Health. Tamzyn approaches public health through a human rights and social justice lens, and favours ecological (systems/structural/social determinants) approaches to understanding, analysing and addressing public health, societal, and planetary challenges. Her research has been in a variety of applied public health content areas including injury, alcohol and other drugs, non-communicable diseases, sexual and reproductive health, and maternal and child health; and has employed both qualitative and quantitative methods. Tamzyn's current research focus is in environmentally sustainable practices in the higher education sector, and working with remote Australian communities to find solutions to public health challenges relevant to that specific context.
