Dr Tamzyn Davey is a Lecturer in the School of Public Health. Tamzyn favours an ecological (systems) public health approach to understanding, analysing and addressing public health issues. Her research, which applies both qualitative and quantitative methods, has been in a variety of public health content areas including non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, alcohol and other drugs, and injury. Tamzyn is currently working with WHO to produce a number of country reports on equitable access to maternal and child health services in the Western Pacific Regional area, as well as on a large, population-level cohort study in South-East Queensland. Tamzyn is passionate about health equity, and health as a human rights and social justice issue.
