Overview

Ashok is currently a UQ Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of Queensland (UQ) with expertise in the synthesis of carbon-based nanostructured materials and polymers, in particular, the implementation of such materials in emerging energy applications. Ashok has developed his research through his doctoral studies and six years of postdoctoral experience in Australia and internationally. Since receiving his Doctor of Engineering degree in 2010, he has been the recipient of four competitive national and international fellowships including the prestigious Marie-Curie fellowship at the French Atomic Energy Commission. Prior to joining UQ in February 2015, he was a Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellow at Kumamoto University, Japan and also worked as a Research Fellow at the Trinity College Dublin. In 2016, he won an UQ Early Career Researcher Award. He has co-authored 35 journal publications, many of which appeared in high-ranking journals in the field, e.g., ACS Nano, Advanced Energy Materials, Energy & Environmental Science and Chemical Communications. His works have been cited over 1400 times. His contributions in the research field have been acknowledged with invitations to present at international conferences and to contribute to review articles in leading journals. He has one US patent (granted) and two other patents.
