Dr Danilo Bolano is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Social Science Research. He is a demographer and social statistician with expertise in quantitative methods for social sciences and longitudinal data analysis.

Dr Bolano research involves the development of statistical models using longitudinal data for life course studies. His methodological expertise includes Markov models, sequence analysis, linear mixed models, multilevel models, structural equation modelling. Dr Bolano also has teaching experience in quantitative methods and statistical methodology for both undergraduates and postgraduates.

Prior to joining UQ, Dr Bolano completing his PhD in Social Sciences and Demography at University of Geneva, Switzerland. He was an associated researcher at the Swiss National Research Center for Life Course Studies. Before completing his PhD, he worked as quantitative researcher and consultant in Italy supporting the activities of public authorities and third sector in planning and evaluating social policies and services and in carrying out social surveys. He also participated to several European funded research projects.
