Dr Azadeh Sahebian graduated from Tehran University of Medical Sciences with GPA A (high ranking, 87%). She worked as a general practitioner in Iran while preparing for Australian Medical Council exams. Azadeh migrated to Australia in 2009 and passed all her exams with the top ranking of three. She did two years of residency at Toowoomba base hospital and Mater hospital to gain further experience in Australia.

She then worked as a part-time honorary dermatology registrar at QLD institute of dermatology and Princess Alexandra Hospital between 2012- 2014 and currently works as a part-time honorary dermatology registrar at the Mater hospital alongside being a rural GP registrar.

Azadeh has been collaborating with dermatology research center as a clinical research assistant since 2012.

Her main areas of interest are keratinocyte cancers and their precursor lesions in organ transplant recipients and in the general population.

The main research projects that she has been involved in are:

1- Prevalence of actinic keratosis and incidence of keratinocyte cancers and associated risk factors in lung transplant recipients in QLD, Australia.

2- Skin Tumours in Allograft Recipients.

3- Safety and efficacy of escalating doses of ingenol mebutate in three different vehicle formulations compared to Picato gel 0.05% in the treatment of actinic keratoses on the forearms.

4- Genetic variations in skin caused by sun damage.
