Overview

Shahrzad is working at UQ Business School, as an Associate Lecturer in Business Information Systems(BIS) and is a PhD candidate. Shahrzad’s teaching expertise is in Business Process Management(BPM), Business Process Improvement, BIS and IS analysis and design. Her research interest include Environmental Sustainability, Information Systems(IS), Green BPM, visualization of environmental information on processes and Design Science. Shahrzad’s PhD project focuses on visualizing Environmental Performance Indicators (EPI) on business process models by designing two artefacts: an EPI process notation and a method to visualize EPI process notation on existing process models.

Research Impacts

Visualizing EPIs on existing business process models clarify environmental information for process participants from inside and outside of the organization so that they can monitor, control and improve their environmental performance. EPIs show process participants how their tasks and decisions affect environmental performance both individually and organizationally. The notation seeks to provide utility to practitioners and therefore will be evaluated and validated using rigorous research methods and empirical data.
