Research Interests

  • Translational Science - Public Health - Co-Author of multiple Cochrane Reviews
Interested in developing early translational science interventions for smoking harm reduction. Involvement as a co-author of multiple Cochrane reviews on smoking cessation I focus on the efficacy of cessation interventions and preventative measures to prevent youth take-up of smoking. I also have a broad interest in Indigenous smoking cessation health outcomes.
  • Smoking - Harm Reduction
Interested in Harm Reduction strategies for smokers with co-morbidity. For many, smoking cessation is difficult to achieve. At present, Australia does not support smoking harm reduction measures. Much of the research I am involved in seeks to inform policy makers as to the benefits of this approach. I am actively involved as the Clinical Trial Co-ordinator for a large NHMRC funded national trial of nicotine vaping technology. This work focuses on use of vaping in at risk populations (i.e. those with significant co-morbidities)
