Dr Melinda (Franettovich) Smith is a physiotherapist and UQ Development Fellow in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. She has worked as a clinician, researcher and educator across several settings including private practice, universities, the Australian Institute of Sport, and sporting clubs at school, community and elite levels. Her research interests and publications extend across several areas including trunk and lower limb motor control, sports and running related injuries, taping and foot orthoses, measurement of foot posture and mobility, gait-retraining and musculoskeletal imaging. Her current research focuses on the development of foot muscle assessment and training to improve the management of patients with foot pain.
