Overview

Professor David R. Gallagher is the inaugural Malcolm Broomhead Chair in Finance at The University of Queensland Business School. His expertise spans the institutional investing, portfolio management, superannuation, and capital markets domains. Professor Gallagher is a former CEO of the Commonwealth and NSW Government's $41 million Centre of Excellence in International Finance and Regulation (CIFR), Professor at the UNSW Business School, and research director at the Capital Markets CRC Limited. Professor Gallagher's career has included a visiting professorial role at The University of Texas at Austin and a visiting scholar role at the Investment Company Institute in Washington DC. Prior to his academic career he was a Financial Analyst at Towers Perrin Inc. (now Willis Towers Watson) in the Asset Consulting division. Dr Gallagher is actively engaged in public policy, financial media, and he has consulted widely to both industry and Government.
