Madeleine completed her Masters degree in Epidemiology at the University of Queensland. Her Master’s dissertation investigated the association between child maltreatment and depressive disorders later in life. Since then, she has commenced work as a research officer with the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research. This involves ongoing research on the association between child maltreatment and other mental disorders, including anxiety and self-harm. She is also working on the Evaluation Framework Project for the new Adolescent Extended Treatment facility. Madeleine is interested in research on the epidemiology of mental illness and strategies to prevent this in order to reduce mental disorder disease burden.
