Dr Kalina Rossa is an early career researcher with an interest in the neural, behavioural and emotional consequences of sleep loss. She completed her PhD at QUT investigating sleep related processes, and the interplay between healthy sleep, resilience, self-regulation and risk taking in young people. Kalina has direct experience working with a range of clinical and non-clinical populations to develop and facilitate research with a focus on improving social, physical and psychological outcomes. In her previous role with the Centre for Clinical Trials in Rare Neurodevelopmental Disorders at QLD Health she was actively involved in the co-design and initiation of a range of multi-component clinical trials assessing the efficacy of pharmacological and behavioural interventions, aimed at improving mental health and behavioural outcomes for children with developmental disorders and their families. Kalina has extensive experience in quantitative research methods, including trials design and implementation, cognitive and neurobehavioural assessment, survey design, and applied psychophysiological measurement (EEG, ECG and actigraphy, ecological momentary assessment) across controlled experimental settings and in the field.
