Overview

Mark has joined the Centre for Health Services Research team at UQ to complete a PhD. He is a qualified Medical Oncologist and a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He is currently appointed as a Medical Oncology Research Fellow at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He has a strong clinical interest in lung, gastrointestinal, neuroendocrine, genitourinary malignancies and clinical trials. His research interests include precision medicine, pharmacogenetics and the utilisation of real-world evidence to guide treatment decisions for patients with cancer.

As part of his PhD, in collaboration with the Cancer Alliance Queensland, Mark will utilise health services data to investigate the real-world outcomes of cancer patients treated with systemic therapy in Queensland. Specifically, he is interested in analysing the outcomes of immunotherapy treatment and investigating the utility of predictive peripheral blood biomarkers which may correlate with response to treatment.
