Overview

Research Interests

  • In The Name of the (M)Other
Book project / work in progress Looking through the problem of domestic violence towards the constitution of the perpetrator relative to our Western understandings of human psychological development and the political framework that supports a 'triad of male violence'. By tracing the unconscious motif of the archaic feminine, the problem becomes clarified from 'the inside out'. I have agreement to read the manuscript from Dr Michelle Boulous Walker, U.Q.
  • Mitsein: Encountering the Event of Er-eignis
Book project / work in progress A transcendental reading of Heidegger's work "chiasmically" with Zen Buddhist texts and the work of Teresa Brennan, Michael Lewis and Michael Zimmerman to reveal the primordial meaning of Heidegger's enigmatic notion of Mitsein. Contrasted with this reading, I read a traditional interpetation of Heidegger's work written by Frederick Olafson to illustrate what is missed when we read this way. I have agreement to read the manuscript from Dr Michellle Boulous Walker, U.Q. and Dr Michael Lewis, U.W.E. Bristol.
