Prof Phil Charles's research interests are in transport strategy development & implementation.

His current research projects are in the fields of:

  • Transport strategy and policy development and implementation
  • Transport operations - public transport, traffic and incident management
  • Transport system performance - road safety, traffic, public transport
  • Institutional arrangements and structuring transport agencies
  • Continuing professional development
