Dr Madonna Devaney is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Service Research (CHSR) at The University of Queensland She is involved in a number of key ageing related projects including research on quality of life in residential aged care facilities.

Madonna has over 15 years public health and criminology research experience. After completing her PhD in 2002 she worked for Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre for almost 10 years undertaking research evaluation in the alcohol and drug treatment sector in Victoria. In 2013 joined the Institute for Social Science Research at the University of Queensland. She was engaged in a program of alcohol, drug and crime research including areas such as alcohol-related violence, pseudoephedrine diversion from pharmacies to clandestine laboratories, the effectiveness of random breath testing and substance use of truant young people. Her most recent research appointment (2015-17) was with the Crime and Corruption Commission working on innovative research methods to better identify high risk corruption areas in Queensland.
