  • The Interface of Secular, Not-for-Profit and Ecclesial Systems of Governance

Research Impacts

Dr Monro's work has contributed to the contemporary development of Christian liturgy, particularly in relation to its inculturation in the Australian context, the inclusion of the lament as a theological and therapeutic motif, and the exploration of feminine imagery for the divine. She has contributed to the contemporary hermeneutical focus in biblical studies, and the exploration of the interaction between poststructuralist philosophy and Christian theology. Her teaching materials have been used nationally to introduce lay people to the study of theology, contextual theologies, and the theology and practice of sacraments. Beyond the environment of Christian theology, she has contributed to the dialogue about the role of feminist perspectives in contemporary research and practice. Her work has been used in the Joint Churches' Domestic Violence Prevention Project, and dialogues around changing approaches to gender and sexuality.
