Overview

Christina is a lecturer in the School of Education at The University of Queensland. Prior to working at UQ, she held a prestigious McKenzie Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at The University of Melbourne. She is also an experienced secondary school teacher in the Humanities. Christina’s research interests include educational policy, school leadership, curriculum change and schooling inequalities. Her work is broadly informed by poststructural theory, especially the work of Judith Butler. Christina is the convenor of the Sociology of Education Special Interest Group within the Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE), and she is also Chief Examiner within the School of Education at UQ. Christina has co-edited a book with Professor Mary Lou Rasmussen (ANU) entitled The cultural politics of queer theory in education research (Routledge, 2016), and is currently co-authoring a book with Dr Richard Niesche (UNSW) entitled Social, critical and political theories for educational leadership (Springer, 2018).
