A Consumer Bankruptcy Project - an interdisciplinary empiric inquiry into determinants and impacts of bankruptcy upon Australian debtors (2009)

Abstract:
The proposal seeks funding for ARCIF Morrison to join the Consumer Bankruptcy Project (CBP) in the USA. The CBP is an interdisciplinary empiric research project around the determinants and impacts of bankruptcy upon debtors. In order for ARCIF Morrison to conduct research of this kind in Australia, it is imperative for him to access the US infrastructure, method and data. This highly significant project provides independent deep valid data around bankruptcy, valuable US collaborative relationships, and consequential application of the research in ensuring more informed decisions around financial literacy. The collaboration will inform an ARC Discovery Grant application and research journal articles.
