Fundamentals and Practical Applications of Hierarchically Structured Bulk Materials (2013–2016)

Abstract:
Hierarchically structured bulk materials have great advantages over conventional particle materials in heat transfer, mass transfer and reactor pressure drop. This project aims to realize hydrogen or methane storage at low pressure and also greatly speedup liquid transport fuel production from synthesis gas by using hierarchically structured bulk materials instead of fine particles. This project also aims to develop an integrated methodolgy for the general applications of hierarchically structured materials for process intensification. The obtained knowledge will extend to many other areas such as chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries etc.
