Testing Ground: Investigating Indigenous Knowledge Programs and Indigenous Research Methodologies in Higher Education (2006–2009)

Abstract:
Indigenous Knowledge (IK) is a relational understanding that values interconnectedness. This research project aims to investigate early career teachers perceptions of the value, relevance and significance of Indigenous Knowledge programs in their teaching practice and to further the development and test the effectiveness, veracity and validity of Indigenous Research Methodologies (IKR). Teacher experiences as they engage IK approaches in their classroom practice will be investigated through an IKR model which mutualises inquiry, problem mediation and participant support.
