Software debuggers for next generation heterogeneous supercomputers (2013–2017)

Abstract:
The next generation of supercomputers will exploit parallelism through a variety of programming techniques that will significantly complicate software development, increasing the chances of errors in critical applications. This project will deliver debugging methodologies and tools that work efficiently on the new platforms, making software more reliable and improving programmer productivity. The outcomes will include new developments in computer science that allow our debugging techniques to scale to large heterogeneous machines, as well as practical tools that can be commercialised by our industry partner.
