Award for Teaching Excellence (ATE) - Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) (2016–2019)

Abstract:
Prof Paul Mills is a veterinary pharmacologist and internationally-recognised leader in innovative veterinary education. A 2007 recipient of an ALTC Teaching Excellence Award (Early Career) in recognition of his work in incorporating life skills in a professional program, Prof Mills' contributions to teaching and learning continue to be highly successful and inspirational, more recently with his initiatives to enhance outcomes for international students and mentoring early career academics. As leader of a global collaboration in curriculum development involving the US, South Korea and Europe, Paul has also led the introduction of an advanced veterinary curriculum in SE Asia. He is shaping the field of veterinary education at institutional, national and global levels, ensuring sustained learning outcomes for students in the School of Veterinary Science while also establishing strong pathways for career development for both graduates and veterinary educators.
