Cardiac electrographic modelling and analysis (2005–2007)

Abstract:
This project uses advanced modeling techniques applied to cardiac pathologies to enhance diagnosis and improve therapeutic options. A personalised electrophysiological model of each patient s heart will be developed based on 3D MRI scans surface electrograms to enable localization of aberrant conductive pathways. In another major thrust of the work non-linear analyses will be performed on a cohort of patients that will receive ICDs (indwelling defibrillators) in order to classify risk groups for these patients by the degree of chaotic behaviour observed in heart rate variability.
