Overview

Jayne graduated from the University of Queensland in 1994. She worked in mixed and small animal practice in Queensland and NSW before returning to UQ as a general surgeon in 2005. Jayne worked as a clinical instructor in small animal surgery at the University of California in Davis before returing to Australia to undertake her residency in Small Animal Surgery at Murdoch University in Perth. Jayne became a boarded small animal surgeon (a specialty qualification) in 2014 and was accepted as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Jayne returned to UQ in 2014 as a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Surgery. Jayne's research interest revolve around improving the health and welbeing of Police and Defence working shepherds in Australia and New Zealand. She is also passionate about improving veterinary undergraduate education, especially in the field of small animal surgery.
