David Smith is Professor of Management Accounting and Director of Research within the UQ Business School. He has published in leading journals including Accounting, Organizations and Society, Management Accounting Research, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Journal of Accounting Literature, and Behavioral Research in Accounting. He is an Editor at Behavioral Research in Accounting and Accounting and Finance, and serves on the editorial boards of a number of journals, including Accounting, Organizations and Society and Management Accounting Research. He is a past member of the board of directors of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ). He also served for a number of years on the Centre of Excellence Panel (Australasia) for the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), including three years as Chair.
