Emanuele Pelosi, Ph.D. is a Group Leader within the Fertility Theme at the Centre for Clinical Research (UQCCR). He is also Fertility Theme Leader at UQCCR and serves as North America Lead within the Faculty of Medicine International Committee. He received his Ph.D. in Medical Biotechnology from the Department of Experimental Pathology of the University of Bologna, Italy. Dr. Pelosi then moved to the USA, joining the Laboratory of Genetics and Genomics of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) as a postdoctoral researcher, and was later recruited by the NIA as a Senior Research Fellow. He relocated to Australia in 2016, when he joined the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) of the University of Queensland. In 2020, he became a Group Leader within the Centre for Clinical Research.

Dr. Pelosi’s research interests aims to define the genetics of the reproductive system as a mean to understand, diagnose, and manage reproductive conditions.

Dr. Pelosi’s research focuses on factors that regulate the development and function of the reproductive system, using translational models to identify genes that are involved in differences of sex development, fertility, and premature menopause. He has received numerous awards including several Achievement Awards and the Nathan Shock Award from the NIH, the Cattaneo Award for Young Researchers, and the Mid-Career Research Award from the Australian Society for Medical Research.
