Andrew is a postdoctoral research fellow working at the Centre for Hypersonics owrking with Prof David Mee since 20 May 2019. He is working on the T4 and X3R reflected shock tunnels.

Prior to commencing at The University of Queensland he worked with Prof Peter Ireland and Dr Marko Bacic at the Oxford Thermofluids Institute (OTI) at the University of Oxford. His research focus at Oxford was on Applied Heat Transfer and Instrumentation Techniques. The projects at Oxford were collaborations with Rolls-Royce plc involving tip clearance control of the HP turbine. Andrew was also the Engineering Manager for OTI and facilitated lab activities including: managing of major engineering works; overseeing the workshop and maintenance teams; and helping with Health and Safety.

Prior to joining Oxford University, he worked at Loughborough University within the Combustion and Aerodynamics University Technology Centre in collaboration with Dr Steven Thorpe. The research at Loughborough was also a Rolls-Royce plc sponsored project and looked at thermal expansion characteristics of a heated large civil aircraft turbine case with impingement cooling manifolds. Before this he worked at The University of Queensland's Centre for Hypersonics where the focus of his research was on heat transfer instrumentation of hypersonic flows, expansion tube facility re-comissioning, and scramjet inlet testing.

Andrew obtained his PhD in hypersonic shock-wave boundary layer interaction at The University of Queensland, Australia in 2009.
