Megan is a molecular biologist who has worked in plant and animal research. She completed her PhD studying gene flow and genetic diversity in plantation eucalypt species at Southern Cross University in 2008. Since then she has worked in livestock vaccine development with the Queensland government, UQ School of Veterinary Science and QAAFI Centre for Animal Science. These projects involved research into development of vaccines for cattle, against the cattle tick and enterohaemorrhagic E. coli. She joined QAAFI Centre for Horticultural Science in 2016 and is currently working on development of diagnostic reagents for detection of Banana bunchy top virus.
