Overview

Dr Eley obtained her medical degree at The University of Tasmania in 1999 and became a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2006 after being awarded the Cecil Gray prize for the final examination. She has worked as a Staff Specialist in anaesthesia at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital since 2007 and has been a Senior Lecturer at The University of Queensland since 2008. She has a clinical and research interest in obstetric anaesthesia, particularly in the evidence-based care of obese pregnant women. In 2017 she completed her PhD in the area of obstetric anaesthesia. Dr Eley is currently focused on expanding the growing research activity within the Department of Anaesthesia of Perioperative Care.
