Overview

Professor Emmerson AM is a psychiatrist and the Executive Director, Metro North Mental Health,part of Australia’s largest Health Service, Metro North HHS in Brisbane. He is Chair, Royal Australian And New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in Queensland and a Member of the Qld Mental Health Commssion Council. He is a Board Member of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and the Stepping Stones Clubhouse a centre to assist people with a mental illness have a place to go and gain assistance with employment. He has chaired the Qld Mental Health Clinical Collaborative since 2007 ,a statewide benchmarking group which has lead significant statewide service improvements in physical health monitoring and smoking reduction for people with schizophrenia and post discharge follow up.He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2017 for significant service to psychiatry.
