Overview

Tim is a Neonatologist at the Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital and an Assoc Prof at the University of Qld. He undertook neonatal training at the Royal Womens Hospital, Melbourne and the University of California San Francisco and completed a Master of Public Health at the University of Qld. His research interests include the impact of nutrition on neonatal growth and neurodevelopment, the epidemiology and outcome of gastroschisis and congenital anomaly surveillance.

Research Interests

  • Impact of nutrition on growth and neurodevelopment in neonates
    Research into quality of growth in particular body composition outcomes and their association with early childhood neurodevelopment and later life metabolic (hypertension, obesity, T2diabetes, cardiovascular outcomes).
  • Epidemiology of Congenital Anomalies
    Epidemiology of gastroschisis. Association of exposure to illicit drugs during pregnancy and congenital anomalies using regional cohorts and waste water analysis
  • Perinatal Telehealth
    Use of telehealth applications in improving outborn neonatal outcomes Use of telehealth in neonatal retrievals
