Serving the greater good: Using servant leadership to build ethical and engaging work practices (2012–2016)

Abstract:
Although the academic and popular literature identifies the need for leaders to foster ethical behaviour, wellbeing and creativity, little is known about the leadership behaviours that produce these outcomes, the underlying process of influence of those leadership behaviours, and the selection and development practices that produce such leaders. The project addresses this gap and will result in the first organizational application in Australia of a leadership development program based on scientific foundations of the servant leadership framework. The outcomes will benefit organizations of all types in developing the leadership capabilities required to create ethical, positive, and sustainable work environments.
