Dr. Amrita Kambo has about a decade of experience working as a graduate architect in Australia. Prior to joining UQ as a post doctoral researcher, Amrita started her career by familairising herself with all aspects of a design studio. She participated at all stages of the design process - sketch design to design development and construction documentation; whilst liasioning with clients, consultants and vendors alike.
Her PhD research investigated sustainable modes of architecture and segued to urban design, planning and strategy. During her PhD, Amrita investigated ecosystem services as a concept and took a look at Biophilic Design Elements to support ecosystem service provision in a building, neighbourhood and city context.
Currently, Amrita is working in multi-disciplinary research at The University of Queensland. Her work is in social license and acceptance towards energy technologies such as hydrogen and biogas for the Future Fuels CRC Social Licence to Operate work package. Amrita's main research interests include sustainable cities, infrastructure and planning, where self and environment are viewed as mutually supportive entities. Amrita is familiar with mixed methods research and has experience in conducting surveys, interviews, focus groups. Amrita has a keen interest in participatory action research.
